Notes on Lydia Lunch

  • Confrontationalist who seeks to destiny the taboos that surround sexual politics uses words, music, film, photography&sculpture to express anger at global apathy& corporate greed
  • She was doing the sexual invasion using sex as a weapon
  • Sex was more of a mental game than physical, as the mental hurt more
  • At 18 she was leaning towards the physical "The perfect man then equaled asshole, big dick, or idiot"
  • Then the universal female phenomena: "its all about getting fucked!" either getting fucked up, fucked over, fucked around, fucked with, or just plain good old fashioned fucked"
  • Mentality is about turning your disadvantages into advantages and made an art of that process. shes alway going to be screaming and yelling
  • New Speeches are politically oriented one women war "its me vs. Regan!!!"
  • Avoided slipping into a routine is unemployed for almost ten years pays for rent and lifestyle off of performances
  • She is now monogamous not by moral or personal choices but for health reasons.
  • Sex in 80's is dangerous and sex=death money is a substitute for sex
  • My partner for the first time is my equal opposed to someone i could outsmart sex is important in the relationship by no means is it the basis of it.

    I find her to be quite interesting, my faivrite quote has to be when she says "The perfect man then equaled asshole, big dick, or idiot". Man she must have been very scorned! I'm glad that in the end she finally found her equal :]
